Photos!

I'm quite bored and fed up today, because the only thing I have to do is homework. :( Stuff like maths revision, French revision and for RE, I have to trace my family tree back as far as I can. I've only got to my grandparents. :( I've already done my Chinese and geography, and I've still got a ton of homework left. I'll do some more of it this afternoon, but until then, I've been watermarking some of my photos from Switzerland to go on Flickr (NeonOrca photography). Here's some of my personal favourites:
Beautiful sunrise over a Swiss lake

Snowy mountain

Ice up-close

Snowy mountain face

Blackbird in the Alps

Beautiful blue lake

Trout swimming around

That water's too clear to be real...

I've also been on Musicshake (it's so addictive!! :P) and I've been working on a piece of music called Neon Orca (nothing to do with my photos though, I just liked the name). I'm not exactly sure what genre you'd call it, but I said electronic because there's lots of synthesizers and beats in it, but there is also a violin that plays the main tune so I'm really not sure. I also added some seashore sounds at the end. Hehe, I couldn't resist.

And by the way, I'm making more 3D computer graphics! I haven't done this in a while, I hope I still know what to do! Hopefully, I post some animation clips on YouTube and on here so look out for them.

Rookie Lifeguard Lesson

I've just got home from my 4th rookie lifeguard lesson. Basically, it's where I learn loads of personal survival and lifesaver stuff in the pool and then when I've finished the course, I become a qualified lifeguard. Useful when I go to college, because it means I've got a job while I'm studying. And apart from anything else, it's fun and it takes me one step closer to the dream of being a killer whale trainer. Anyway, we started with the usual 10-length warm up, today we did freestyle (front crawl). When that was done, we got into our pyjamas and then practiced the tow bag (that little red bag thing with yellow rope in it) in pairs. I paired up with Yeva (not sure if I spelled that right :S), who is now a new friend of mine. I threw it out and OMG, it reached her so I pulled her back in. We did the tow bag for a bit more, then we had to throw floats at our 'casualty' so they could swim back. I was worse than terrible at this. My float ended up all over the pool. :/ Whoops! We finished it off with some swimming stamina, then a butterfly race. I lost. :( But it was in our pyjamas.

Also, I found another London 2012 50p coin, this time with the badminton symbol on it. I've got three now: Badminton, fencing and the aquatics one that I bought, as well as a £5 coin.

Missing Trua, Old English Dolphinariums, and Other Random Stuff

Lately, I've been missing my little baby Trua and all the other killer whales, and SeaWorld, and basically everything else in Florida. :( It's so stupid that dolphins and killer whales aren't allowed to be in aquariums in England, since it was banned in 1993. Mind you, when I visited Flamingoland the other day, the sealion show took place in what was once the dolphin tank there and it was very small for dolphins. They also used to have a killer whale named Cuddles, and he definitely wouldn't have had much room to move. Oh, and the Flamingoland pool was one of the biggest dolphin pools in England. It's quite deep (5.something metres) but still VERY small. Here's a picture:

Oh the smallness...

In other news, I'm really excited because on Tuesday, I'm going to London (only my second time ever, can you believe it?!?!) to visit the Harry Potter studios with my cousin Sarah! Woo! I'll post lots of pictures when I'm back. And talking about pictures, I still haven't got the Flamingoland photos onto my laptop, but when I do, I'll post them. Anways, I gotta go now because I'm off for my rookie lifeguard lesson. I'll post about it when I return! See y'all!

Flamingo Land and Sealions!

Yesterday, I went to Flamingo Land theme park!! My first time in something like seven years! While we were there, we went and watched a sealion show that the park held. It was lots of fun, especially when one of the sealions, Merlin, wouldn't do as he was told and just walked off. Lol! XD Afterwards, I got to do something totally awesome. I went backstage and fed one of the sealions, Miguel (Miguel is amazing <3). He was really gentle, and just followed whoever had the fish. Then, we went out onto the stage and trained the one of the sealions, Marvin, and played with him. I learned the signals for wave, clap and smile. It was fun and surprisingly easy to do the different signals, and Marvin did each one right. Next, I threw some plastic hoops into the water. Marvin caught some of them round his neck, or swam after the other ones. After that, I threw Marvin a ball and he caught it on his nose and balanced it there. The next time I threw it, I threw it into the water and Marvin balanced it on his nose as he swam back. The training session finished with a photo of me and Marvin both sticking our tongues out. Cute!

After the sealions, we had lunch and then went on some rides. We didn't go on any big rollercoasters because two were too scary for me (one of these was the steepest roller coaster in the world, by the way!), we couldn't find the queue for one of them and by the time we'd got to the one I wanted to go on, the queue was closed. :( I did go on some rides though, like the swinging pirate ship and these spinning chair things. But we spend most of the time looking round the zoo, and then we watched another sealion show.

I recorded all of the second show on my Flip camcorder (it died just before the first show but then I had the genius idea of taking the battery pack out of it and putting two AA batteries in instead :P). It was quite funny because they brought Miguel out to do the first half, and he was being really silly and hyper and the trainer was having difficulty keeping him under control. Miguel's final trick was climbing up these steps onto a tower and jumping off. After he had done that that, he was supposed to go backstage, but he instead decided to climb back up the steps and jump off again. XD We also saw Clive, who walked along on his front flippers and jumped up to touch this ball and whatnot. Before he came out, the trainer asked if anyone had seen Clive before and I was the only one who put my hand up. Embarrassing! :$ Anyways, after the second show, we watched the sealions underwater for a bit, then had a last look round everywhere and went home. We spent seven hours at Flamingo Land! :)

I'll be posting the photos and videos soon, but they probably won't include the ones from surfing because they all corrupted. :'(

Sealions

So right now I'm in the queue for the sealion show here at Flamingo Land theme park! Then afterwards, I'm going backstage to train them! Can't wait!

Surfing and Shouka

Today I went body surfing with my besto Zoe!! :) We had great fun and took pictures of ourselves underwater (I hope to post them a little later on ;) ) and so on. Funniest moment of the day was me falling off a zipwire in from of everyone. Embarrasing! :$ Anyways, surfing was lots of fun. I surfed on the waves a lot longer than Zoe so... erm... woo! It was so much fun!

In other news in the world of killer whales, I can happily announce that Shouka has arrived at SeaWorld San Diego from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. This is amazing news for me because in all honesty, I think that Shouka was unhappy at Six Flags, what with the fact she had a really small tank and was ALL ALONE, with not even a dolphin companion! :( Orcas on their own just isn't right, they are so social! I mean, it was just over a month ago when a video was released of her attacking a trainer during a show. D: But now she's at at SeaWorld with a huge pool complex to swim in and eight other orcas. So over the next couple of weeks, Shouka will be introduced to them orcas and with a bit of luck, she'll find a friend! :) Here's a picture of Shouka been lowered into her tank. It doesn't belong to me, but does belong to CBS8:

More piccies of Shouka being moved to SeaWorld San Diego!! :) I'm so happy! :)

Here, we see Shouka being lowered into the water with lots of SeaWorld trainer gathered round.

Surfing

I know this is the third time I've posted today but I'm kinda obsessed now! XD Anyways, tomorrow I'm going surfing with my friend Zoe (providing the weather's OK :P). Woo hoo! So yah, I'll post some pictures from our surfing adventure tomorrow!

Underwater Photos

I like to go scuba diving, so here are some random photos of me underwater:

With an underwater horse reading a magazine

With another, more normal, underwater horse

Random photos from Malta

Me by the mast of a shipwreck (wreck of the P29 to be precise)

And finally, with nothing to do with scuba diving, me and my baby Trua!! <3

Vicky!

Here's some pictures of Vicky, a baby killer whale born at Loro Parque on August 3rd 2012. I don't own these pictures, they belong to Loro Parque:

N'aww. Isn't she just adorable!
